Fennell, Girdano Homer as Redhawks Fall to Penn St. Altoona

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Redhawks (20-6, 9-3) committed six errors in two games as they were swept by Penn St. Altoona (19-7, 9-3) 13-4, 6-3 in AMCC Conference action on Wednesday at John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field. The losses end a six game winning streak and an eight game home win streak.

Game 1 starting pitcher, Jesse Bauer, allowed five runs (one earned run) in the first inning to record the loss.

Dustin Lalle went 3 for 3 and scored two runs and George Nahay had two runs batted in. Ryan Fennell finished with two hits including his first career home run.

James Connelly recorded his first loss of the season in game 2. Connelly threw all seven innings allowing six runs (five earned runs) on six hits while striking out seven batters.

Anthony Girdano went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and hit his first career home run. George Nahay finished with two hits and an RBI and Dustin Lalle recorded an RBI and scored a run.

The Redhawks will look to rebound tomorrow when they travel to #2 Marietta in a non-conference game at 5:00PM.
