Baseball Clinches AMCC Tournament Bye With Split at Medaille

BUFFALO, NY – The Redhawks (25-9, 13-5) clinched a bye in the AMCC Conference Tournament after a two-game split with Medaille College (19-12, 11-7) 2-0 (W), 1-0 (L) at McCarthy Park. La Roche will play the winner of the AMCC's fourth and fifth seeded teams on May 12.

Jesse Bauer shut out the host Mavericks in game one. He threw all seven innings allowing only four hits and a walk.

Dustin Lalle went 1 for 2 with a run scored and stole a base. George Nahay recorded a hit and an RBI and Anthony Girdano scored a run.

Medaille scored its lone run in the first inning of game two but held on for the win. Starting pitcher Cole Lentz recorded his first career loss throwing five strong innings and allowing only one run on five hits while striking out three batters. Tim Devine threw a scoreless sixth inning.

The Redhawks registered only three hits in the game. Dustin Lalle went 1 for 2 with a stolen base and Mitchell Meyers walked twice.

The Redhawks will host a Senior Day Game against #1 Marietta on Thursday, May 5 at 4:00PM. La Roche lost to the nation's number one ranked team 4-1 on April 21, 2011.
