La Roche Baseball is pleased to announce its schedule for the 2013 season.
Last season, the Redhawks finished first in the AMCC Conference standings and won their first-ever Tournament Championship with a 14-4 win over Mt. Aloysius College. La Roche capped their best season to date by earning a bid to the 2012 NCAA Tournament Mid-East Regional and beating Westminster College 3-2 for the school's first NCAA Tournament win.
La Roche will open the 2013 season with a single 9-inning game at Waynesburg University, on February 25 before traveling to Fort Pierce, Florida for Spring Training. The Spring Training trip is highlighted by games against 2012 NCAA Tournament teams Keystone and Misericordia.
The Redhawks begin AMCC Conference play on March 27 with a double-header against Pitt-Greensburg at John Arnold Sr. Memorial Field. Other conference games of note include an AMCC Championship rematch with Mt. Aloysius on April 24 and a double-header with ECAC South Champion Penn State Behrend on March 30.
La Roche's out-of-conference schedule includes 2012 NCAA Tournament qualifiers Westminster and Washington & Jefferson as well as traditional Ohio Athletic Conference power Heidelberg. The Redhawks will also play former AMCC Conference rival Frostburg State on April 9.
