Baseball Extends Win-Streak to Seven With 15-0 Victory Over Denison

GRANVILLE, OH – Starting pitcher Walt Hadjuk allowed just three hits in six scoreless innings as the Redhawks (19-11) extended their win-streak to seven games with a 15-0 victory over Denison University (12-11). La Roche hase scored 134 runs in the past seven games (19.1 per game).

The Redhawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a Franzee Barlamas RBI double up the right field line. They extended their lead to 6-0 with RBI singles by Colin Fiekles and Brian Tougher and added three more in the fifth with RBI doubles from Alex Simone and Ben Herstine. The Redhawks scored two more in the eighth inning and four in the ninth to register the 15-0 win.

Hadjuk tossed six scoreless innings and allowed just 3 hits and 4 baserunners. Jesse Bauer struck out 3 batters in two innings of relief while Ryan Fennell threw a perfect ninth inning.

AMCC and ECAC Player of the Week Colin Fiekles went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, 2 runs, and a double. Franzee Barlamas had 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and scored twice while Cory Podvasnik hit in 3 and scored. Brian Tougher and Sean Lubin had 2 RBIs apiece and John Watson scored 3 runs. Alex Simone and Colin Williamson scored two runs each in the victory.

La Roche Baseball will travel to Pitt-Bradford on Saturday for an important AMCC Conference game.
