Baseball Runs Win Streak to Nine With 16-3, 16-1 Sweep Of Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA – La Roche Baseball (21-11, 11-1) came away with a big series sweep of Pitt-Bradford (17-8, 7-3) 16-3, 16-1 to run their win-streak to nine games and clinch a spot in the AMCC Tournament. The Redhawks have now scored 15+ runs in nine consecutive games.

La Roche used a 5-run third inning and a 6-run seventh to cruise to a 16-3 Game 1 victory. Colin Feikles, last week's National Player of the Year, continued to swing a hot bat and went 4 for 5 with 5 RBI, 3 runs, and a pair of doubles. Sean Lubin hit in 2 and scored twice while Franzee Barlamas scored 4 runs, had an RBI and tripled. Brian Tougher and Cory Podvasnik both scored twice and Colin Williamson and John Watson each had an RBI and scored.

Cole Lentz picked up his sixth win of the season after tossing 5 quality innings and allowing just 2 runs while striking out 5 batters. Adam Rousseau gave up a run in 2/3 of an inning and Brady Hamer threw a scoreless seventh.

The Redhawks opened Game 2 with two first inning singles and a 2-run double to go ahead 2-0. Two batters later John Watson belted his fourth homer of the season to put La Roche up 4-0. They added two more in the second and five more in the third including four on a Cory Podvasnik grand slam over the right-centerfield wall. La Roche scored another in the fifth, two in the sixth, and Cody Scruggs hit his first career homer in the seventh for the 16-1 win.

Watson, Podvasnik, and Scruggs all hit homers to boost the Redhawks' home run total to 16 on the season. Tougher had 3 RBI and 2 runs while Barlamas had 2 RBI and scored twice.

Starting pitcher Tyler Ferguson registered his seventh win of the year and threw four shutout innings while striking out four. Jesse Bauer allowed one run in two innings and Ryan Fennell threw a perfect seventh inning.

La Roche Baseball will host Waynesburg on Monday at 3PM.
