Baseball Breaks School Record For Most Runs in a Game, Sweep D'Youville

PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche College baseball broke the school-record for most runs in a game when they scored thirty-three in a victory over D'Youville College. The Redhawks swept a double-header over D'Youville winning 13-0 and 33-0.

Walt Hadjuk registered the Game 1 victory scattering just 3 hits over 5 innings. Ethan Lewis threw a scoreless sixth inning and Tyler Booher followed giving up no runs in the seventh.

Colin Williamson finished just a home run short of the cycle. He finished with 3 RBI and scored twice. Brian Tougher went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. Alex Simone had a pair of RBI while Luis Navedo added two scores.

The Redhawks belted four home runs in Game 2. Navedo hit his team-leading third homer of the season while Angel Sanchez, Devin Pritts and Shane Emrich each hit their first career home runs. Ben Herstine and Corey Lazor each hit in a career-high 5 runs and Pritts, Navedo and Sanchez had 3 RBI. Eighteen different Redhawks registered hits including Herstine and Franzee Barlamas who both had four.

Jesse Grundza got his first career start and pitched a gem. He threw 6 scoreless innings and gave up just 3 hits with 3 strikeouts. Jesse Saviskey and Anthony Romano combined for 2 scoreless innings of relief.

The Redhawks will travel to Mt. Aloysius College on Tuesday for an AMCC double-header. The Mounties are coming off a big sweep of Penn State Behrend on Sunday.
