Eight Redhawks Named AMCC All-Conference, Ferguson Pitcher of the Year, Rowe Coach of the Year

The 2015 AMCC Regular Season Champion La Roche College Redhawks were extremely well represented when the AMCC All-Conference Team was released today. Eight Redhawks received All-Conference nominations including Tyler Ferguson who was recognized as the AMCC Pitcher of the Year and Chase Rowe who won Coach of the Year.

Ferguson led the AMCC in conference games with a 0.32 ERA, while also ranking third in strikeouts (33) and fourth in strikeouts per game (10.61). He led the AMCC with four conference wins and seven overall, and gave up just one earned run against AMCC opponents.

Coach Rowe was named the AMCC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in the past five years. Rowe led the Redhawks to a 14-2 conference record, their second consecutive AMCC regular season title, and the right to host the conference tournament.

In addition to earning Pitcher of the Year honors, Ferguson also made the All-Conference First Team. Starting pitcher Tanner Wilt (4-1 1.91 ERA, 63 SO), first baseman Cory Podvasnik (.443 BA, 7 HR, 29 RBI), third baseman Brian Tougher (.348 BA, 1 HR, 29 RBI) and right fielder John Watson (.376 BA, 4 HR, 31 RBI) were named to the AMCC All-Conference First Team. Center fielder Luis Navedo (.366 BA, 4 HR, 28 RBI) and designated hitter Alex Simone (.319 BA) were Second Teamers and starting pitcher Regis Sauers (4-2, 3.50 ERA, 22 SO) made the Third Team.
