Pittsburgh, Pa -- The La Roche baseball team continued their assault on the AMCC conference as they swept a pair of games from Hilbert College 15-0, 7-1. The offense found its rhythm with 18 hits in the first game and Brady Hamer and David Lemley added quality starts. The sweep brings La Roche's record to (17-7, 4-0).

Game 1: Senior starting pitcher Brady Hamer allowed his defense to help him get out of a two hit top half of the first unscathed. The Redhawks carried the momentum into the bottom of the first with hits by Colin Williamson, Corey Lazor, and Ben Herstine to take a 3-0 lead.

Tyler Craig added to the lead with an RBI in the second, hitting home Ian Valez who reached on a triple. Joe Professori put La Roche ahead 5-0 sending a deep fly ball to right field allowing Corey Lazor to tag up.

A big fourth inning broke the game open as the Redhawks' lineup turned over 6 hits and 7 runs. The inning was highlighted by the speedy Ben Herstine with his second triple of the game and a 12-0 lead.

The fifth inning brought two doubles from Craig and Williamson followed by an inside the park homer by Lazor. The inning continued a big day for the trio and stretched the lead to an insurmountable 15-0.

Hamer threw a complete game shutout as he scattered four hits and had six strikeouts.

Game 2: The offense continued to roll in the second game as Colin Williamson singled and stole second before scoring on a Cory Lazor single. Ian Valez doubled to the right centerfield gap to put La Roche up 3-0.

Junior David Lemley got the start and cruised through the first part of the game and got some help on spectacular plays by second baseman Ramon Rios and Williamson in the third inning. Hilbert finally cracked the La Roche defense for their first run of the day in the sixth as back to back errors led to the run.
