The La Roche College baseball team continues to garner national recognition this time rising to a program-best ranking at 16 in this week's The Perfect Game top 25 poll. The Redhawks move up four spots after posting a 5-1 record last week.
La Roche earns the ranking based on their tough strength of schedule and record against quality opponents. The Redhawks have a 7-2 record against perennial NCAA Tournament teams Baldwin Wallace, Widener, Washington & Jefferson, Case Western, Marietta and Heidelberg.
La Roche is receiving contributions on both sides of the ball. Tanner Wilt (44 strikeouts) and Trey Claar (6 saves) both lead the AMCC in a pitching category while Corey Lazor (41 hits) leads the league in hits.
The Redhawks will travel to Marietta tomorrow for a single 9-inning game. La Roche beat Marietta 6-1 on March 19.
