The Redhawk bats were much quieter today as a good start from sophomore Jake Kurtz held the offense in check.
Misercordia started early with runs in each of the first two innings and then it was a pitching duel into the sixth. Garron Telesz takes the loss in his first career start going 5 and 2/3, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 3. Chris Hanlon and Justin Johnson also added an inning of scoreless relief a piece.
There wasn't much to speak of from an offensive standpoint for the Redhawks but the little offense that was provided came from senior centerfielder Taylor Huber who had 2 triples along with two RBI on the day. Ian Velez provided the only other run with a sac fly to score Huber in the 8th. Elmo Trickett and Mitchell Yard were the only other Redhawks to cross home plate today in a 6-3 loss.
The Redhawks look to bounce back against Widener University tomorrow at 4:30.
