The Redhawks fell behind early again as Widener took an early lead scoring 2 runs in the first. The pitching staff was able to shut down the Pride as they didn't allow another runner to cross home plate.
Ethan Lewis took the mound for his first start of the season, he went 4 innings allowing 2 runs on zero hits, while striking out 4. Tanner Stanz was nothing short of remarkable coming in relief striking out 4 in 5 scoreless innings.
The Redhawks were down 2-1 and down to their final 3 outs when back to back singles from Shane Roebuck and Joe Professori sparked a rally. With 1 out and the bases loaded a pinch hit single from Mitchell Yard would tie the game at 2 and send it into extra innings.
Inning after inning and jam after jam the Redhawk pitching staff was up to the task. Shane Emrich tossed an inning and 2/3 of scoreless baseball and Anthony Romano pitched the last 2 outs of the 12th inning to pick up his first win of the season.
The bottom of the twelfth inning started with an overthrow from the third basemen to get Lazor on base with 1 out. After picking up the second out David Lemley was intentionally walked to make it 1st and 2nd with 2 away as Shane Roebuck walked to the plate and delivered a line drive to left field to score Lazor and give the Redhawks the win!
The Redhawks round out their Florida trip tomorrow morning against Misercordia at 9:30.
