Baseball Remains Perfect in AMCC After Double Header Sweep at Medaille

BUFFALO, NY -- The La Roche baseball teamed remained undefeated in the AMCC afte sweeping Medaille 7-2, 21-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Redhawks improve to 18-6 overall and 8-0 in the AMCC Conference.

Medaille jumped ahead with an RBI single in the bottom of the first and were threatening to score in the second but Garren Telesz got out of a jam leaving runners on the corners. The Redhawks answered in the third inning on RBI doubles from Luis Navedo and David Lemley

Telesz used a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the third and then a Shane Roebuck 2 run homer and Mitchel Yard RBI double upped the Redahwks lead to 5-1. Joe Professori singled home Lemley and Corey Lazor in the sixth inning and La Roche went on to win 7-2.

Telesz picked up his first career win and Roebuck his sixth home run of the season.

The second game was a no doubter as the Redhawks cruised to a twenty run victory. La Roche racked up twenty-three hits and Tanner Stanz improved to a perfect 4-0. Stanz leads the AMCC with a 1.09 ERA.

Twenty-three Redhawks saw action including Lemley and Ian Velez who both went 4 for 4. Lemley scored four times and hit in two while Velez scored three times and hit in one. They also rank 1-2 in the AMCC in RBIs and 2-3 in batting average.

Professori hit in two and scored twice. Gino Qualihero had a bases clearing triple while Yard hit in two and Navedo scored twice.

The Redhawks return to action tomorrow. They will host Waynesburg is a game reschedule from Friday.
