Coach Novak enters his third year as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. Novak will work with the hitters and infielders along with serving as the base running coach and the Redhawks Third Base Coach.
A captain and team MVP during his playing career at La Roche, Novak was a key contributor on the field for the Redhawks. In his senior season, Novak managed to lead the Redhawks in RBI's with 46, batting average with .446, and home runs with 5 total for the 2010 season.
Novak graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 2005 where he led his team to two state playoffs and a WPIAL final. He was named First Team All-Pennsylvania shortstop in 2004. He earned a scholarship to Division 1 Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
Novak spent two summers in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League playing for the Carolina Sox. The SCBL is a major league sponsored college summer league.
Novak took on the head coaching reins in the summer of 2011 for the Tradewater Pirates of the NCAA Ohio Valley Summer League. He was also the Head JV Coach at Keystone Oaks High School in 2009.In the fall of 2011, he managed the Hampton high school fall team. Novak was an assistant coach of the Pittsburgh Spikes summer team in summer of 2010 and 2012. He was also part of the developmental Spikes program for the fall of 2010.
Novak worked two summers at the Winthrop University and the Carolina Sox baseball camp. He has worked the La Roche baseball winter camps for the past three years.
Coach Novak is a native of Houston, Pa. He graduated from the United States Sports Academy with a Bachelor of Sports Science degree in Sports Coaching.
