Redhawks Drop First Conference Game to Behrend

ERIE, PA – La Roche Men's Basketball (17-2, 11-1) could not overcome a thirteen-point halftime lead falling to Penn State Behrend (16-2, 11-1) 64-41 at the Junker Center. The loss is their first in AMCC Conference play and ends their school record sixteen game winning streak.

Joel McIntosh led the Redhawks with 15 points and made 7 of 14 field goals. Laron Mann finished with 12 points including a 7 for 8 performance from the free throw line.

The Redhawks failed to control the glass for only the second time this season. The Redhawks were also outrebounded in a 64-51 loss to Thiel College on November 19.

Behrend center, Russ Conley, recorded a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Chris Saltzman added 12 points on 5 of 13 shooting.  The Lions shot 49% from the field including 55% in the second half.

The loss drops the Redhawks into a first-place tie in the AMCC Conference standings.

La Roche Men's Basketball will travel to Penn State Altoona (4-15, 4-8) on Wednesday, February 2 at 8:00PM. Altoona is coming off of an 86-70 loss to D'Youville.
