PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche Men's Basketball (14-5, 10-3) scored fifty points in the paint in a 74-65 victory over Pitt-Greensburg (3-9, 5-14) in AMCC action on Wednesday night.
Despite being out-rebounded, the Redhawks took a two point lead into halftime by forcing turnovers. La Roche extended their lead in the second half by controlling the boards and scoring points in the paint.
David Jackson led the Redhawks with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Mike Dixon added 15 points, 5 points, and 5 assists. Marcus Martin hit double figures for the fifth time this season with 11 points and Jean Freeman grabbed a season-high 9 boards.
La Roche outscored Penn State Behrend 50-36 in the paint and 32-14 off turnovers. The Redhawks also forced twenty-one turnovers.
The Redhawks will host Penn State Behrend on Saturday in a rematch of the 2011 AMCC Championship. Joel McIntosh scored a game-high 16 points in a 45-41 win over the Lions on December 10, 2010.
