The La Roche College men's basketball team is excited to announce that they have added Cleveland State University to their schedule. The Redhawks will travel to the 13,610 seat Wolstein Center on December 23 at 3PM.
"We are very excited that the Cleveland State program has given us this great opportunity to go play against a very tough Division 1 team," said Coach Carmichael. "This is a great opportunity for us right before Christmas break to find out where we will be as a team. It's also a special game for some of the guys on our roster that are from Ohio and more specifically the Cleveland area."
Five Redhawks are from Eastern Ohio including seniors David Jackson and Jean Freeman.
The Vikings are a NCAA Division I team out of the Horizon League and have a history of upsetting top-ranked teams. They defeated #7 Vanderbilt two seasons ago and during the 2008-2009 season they beat #11 Syracuse, #23 Butler, and then upset Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
This is the second time the Redhawks will make the trip. The two schools last met on December 20, 2008.
