CRESSON, PA – La Roche men's basketball (4-3, 2-1) dropped their first conference game of the year after falling to Mt. Aloysius College (3-4, 1-1) 92-84 on Wednesday night.
The Redhawks trailed by as many as twelve points before making a strong push to get back into it. La Roche took the lead at the 14:22 mark of the second half and extended the lead to as many as seven points, but Mt. Aloysius embarked on a 32-14 run over the final eight minutes to hold on for the win.
Lionel Perkins scored a team-high 25 points and went 8 for 12 from the field. David Jackson registered his third straight double-double with 11 points and 16 boards while Andre Flanigan had 19 points and 7 rebounds. Daron Tabron recorded 17 points and 4 assists in the loss.
The Redhawks grabbed 41 rebounds and shot 48% (29 of 60) from the field. They also outscored Mt. Aloysius by 10 points in the paint, but the Mounties got an impressive 30 points from their bench.
La Roche men's basketball looks to return to their winning ways when they host D'Youville College on Saturday. The Spartans are coming off an 88-83 loss to Houghton College.
