BUFFALO, NY – La Roche men's basketball's (12-7, 8-4) 3-game win-streak came to an end after an 81-69 loss to Medaille College (8-11, 7-5) on Saturday afternoon.
The Mavericks shot 88% (7 of 8) from the foul line to take a 39-31 lead into halftime. The Redhawks made only 6 of 14 first half free throws but they outrebounded Medaille 18-17 and held a significant advantage on the offensive glass. David Jackson paced the Redhawks with 10 points and 6 rebounds while Andre Flanigan added 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
La Roche cut the lead to just 4 points with 12:16 left in the game but Medaille went on an 11-0 run and held on for the twelve point victory.
Jackson registered his seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds while Flanigan tallied 16 points and 8 rebounds. Daron Tabron scored 10 points and Jean Freeman and Zaire Redding each grabbed 6 boards.
La Roche held a significant advantage on the boards and in the paint but Medaille shot the ball well and hit 28 of 31 shots from the free throw line.
The men's basketball team will return to the Fitness Center for a pair of AMCC Conference games. La Roche will host Mt. Aloysius on Wednesday at 6PM and Pitt-Bradford on Saturday at 1PM.
