PITTSBURGH, PA – The La Roche men's basketball team played extremely hard for forty minutes but ultimately fell to the 2013 OAC Champion Marietta Pioneers 66-51.
Camden Douglas led the Redhawks with nine first half points as they entered intermission trailing 34-25. La Roche came out of the half on a roll and got a key dunk from Zaire Redding but Marietta held on for the victory.
Redding and Ryan Frantz led the Redhawks with 11 points each while Andres Abreu scored four points and pulled down 11 boards. Douglass had 9 points and went 2 for 3 from distance and Arnes Bajgora finished with 5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.
La Roche played extremely hard and outrebounded Marietta 29-26 including 10-6 on the offensive glass. The Redhawks shot 37% from the field but hit just 3 of 19 shots from behind the arc and turned the ball over 15 times.
The men's basketball team will enjoy Thanksgiving break before returning to the Fitness Center on Saturday to host Geneva. Tip-off is 3PM.
