NEW WILMINGTON, PA –The Redhawks overcame a double-digit second half deficit to nearly catch Westminser but La Roche ultimately fell 66-59 on Saturday afternoon.
La Roche trailed by as many as fifteen points with 12:58 left before an 18-7 run got them within two. An Oneal Brown alley-oop got things started and the Redhawks outrebounded Westminster 9-1 over the course of the run. However, the home team followed with a 9-0 run of their own and held on for the seven point victory.
Forty-six of the Redhawks' fifty-nine points came from the bench including a career-high 23 from Larry Brodie (9 of 11). Zaire Redding had a game-high 9 boards as La Roche outrebounded Westminster 41-37. The Titans held an advantage in the turnover department and converted fifteen turnovers into nineteen points.
La Roche men's basketball will enjoy the holiday break before returning to action on January 7 against Thiel College.
