League's Top Ranked Offense Too Much For Redhawks

GREENSBURG, PA – Tonight's matchup pitted the AMCC's third ranked defense (La Roche) against the league's top ranked offense (Pitt-Greensburg). Pitt-Greensburg got the better of the Redhawks earning a 98-81 win which dropped La Roche to 4-3 in conference play. The Bobcats improved to 6-1 which kept them in a tie atop the AMCC.

Pitt-Greensburg's high-powered offense carried them to a 50-34 halftime lead. The Redhawks trailed by as many as twenty-three points in the second half before a 27-10 run got them back into it. Seniors Torin Smith and Jared Richardson provided three-pointers over the course of the run, but the deficit was too much for La Roche to overcome.

Pitt-Greensburg sported one of the most efficient offenses that the Redhawks have seen all season. La Roche allowed a season-worst 37 made field goals and the Bobcats shot 63% from the field. The Redhawks won the rebounding battle (41-39) and pulled down twelve more than Pitt-Greensburg on the offensive glass.

Arnes Bajgora led all scorers with 25 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Ray Quan Phifer finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals while Dion Etheridge added 14 points and 9 boards.

The Redhawks return to the Kerr Fitness Center and Scott Lang Court on Saturday when they take on Pitt-Bradford. The game matches up the AMCC's fourth ranked team (La Roche) with it's fifth ranked team (Pitt-Bradford).
