The AMCC Conference office announced its postseason awards in a statement released this morning. La Roche men's basketball sophomore forward Arnes Bajgora was named to the AMCC All-Conference Second Team and Hermie Carmichael was the AMCC Coach of the Year.
Bajgora is an All-Conference Second Team selection after winning AMCC Newcomer of the Year last season. He is just one of three underclassmen to earn a spot on the All-Conference Team and one of two sophomores. Bajgora averaged 15.2 points and 6.7 rebounds for the Redhawks and ranked in the AMCC's top ten in free throws (third), offensive rebounds (fifth), rebounds (eighth), points (ninth) and field goals (ninth).
Hermie Carmichael earns AMCC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Redhawks to a fourth place finish in the conference standings and a berth into the AMCC Tournament Quarterfinals. La Roche enjoyed a twelve win improvement under Carmichael and his squad ranked among the best defensive and rebounding teams in the league. The Redhawks also hosted their first playoff game since the 2011 season.
