Pittsburgh, PA- The La Roche Men's Basketball team defeated the Pitt-Bradford Panthers 80-70 on Saturday. They are now 2-0 in conference and 4-3 overall.
The Redhawks never relinquished the lead after going up 5-3 just two minutes into the game. La Roche entered halftime with a 34-27 lead thanks to an extremely efficient and disciplined offense. They assisted on 8 of 13 field goals and established a rhythm in the paint. Arnes Bajgora led La Roche with 14 first half points and hit 6 of 8 shots from short range.
The paced picked up in the second half with Pitt-Bradford trying to get back in it. The Panthers got within three with 16:37 left but never threatened after that. La Roche forced 10 Bradford turnovers while RayQuan Phifer (12 points) and Evan Bonnaure (12 points) provided the offense.
With this win, the Redhawks pick up their second straight win at home. All five starters contributed a good amount of points in the victory. Scoring leaders were Bajgora with 16, followed by Evan Bonnaure with 15.
The Redhawks look to continue their schedule on Wednesday, December 7th as they travel to Westminster for a non-conference game. The game time is set for 7p.m.
