PITTSBURGH, PA – Yousef Barqawi scored two second-half goals as La Roche Men's Soccer (1-0) defeated Penn St. Beaver (0-1) 5-0 in their season opener. Both goals came on corner kick attempts from freshman Ryan Luffey who finished with three assists.

Andrew Danylo registered his first collegiate goal and Tyler Irwin and Chad Trozzi each scored goals. Goalkeeper, Nick Sabol, made three saves to record the win.

The Redhawks outshot Penn St. Beaver 22-4 and converted on 2 of 3 corner kicks. La Roche committed ten fouls in the win.

The Redhawks will host Hood College on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3:00PM. Hood is coming off of a 1-0 2OT win over Goucher College.
