Weimerskirch and Luffey Reach Single-Season Records in 6-4 Loss to Lions

ALTOONA, PA, -- Bryan Weimerskirch tied La Roche's single-season points record and Ryan Luffey broke the single-season assists record but the Redhawks (10-7-1) fell to Penn State Altoona (8-9) 6-4 in an AMCC Tournament First Round matchup.

Tyler Irwin, Philip Ross, and Chad Trozzi scored goals in a back-and-forth first half and both teams went into the second half tied at 3-3. The host Lions scored two goals before Johsua Casey's first career goal got the Redhawks within one with five minutes left in regulation. Penn State Altoona scored a goal in the 89th minute to end it.

Irwin, Ross, Trozzi, and Casey each scored a goal for the Redhawks and Luffey added three assists. Weimerskirch recorded an assist in the loss.

Weimerskirch finishes the season tied with Reuben Jolo for most points in a season with thirty-three and Luffey broke John James' record nine assists with twelve this season. Weimerskirch's nine assists are tied for second most in a season and Luffey's twenty-four points is fifth all-time.
