Clayton, Kidder Lead Cross Country at Mt. Aloysius Invitational

CRESSON, PA -- The La Roche men's and women's cross country teams competed in eighty degree heat at the Mt. Aloysius Cross Country Invitational on Saturday in Cresson, Pennsylvania.

Dominique Clayton and Jeff Dailey paced the men's team with a second and third place finish as the Redhawks finished second in the team standings, two points ahead of Pitt-Greensburg and only five behind host Mt. Aloysius.
Clayton came from fourth place in the last quarter-mile to dash by two competitors in the closing meters and Alameen Byers ran strong final mile. Freshman, Robbie Patterson outsprinted a competitor in the final stretch to secure the second place finish for the Redhawks.
Alecia Kidder led the Lady Redhawks with a fourth place finish in the women's race. She showed her toughness by staying with the leaders until close to the end, and then hung on to an impressive 23:49, close on the heels of a Mt. Aloysius competitor and almost a minute ahead of the fifth place finisher.
