STEUBENVILLE, OH – La Roche College Softball (11-7, 4-2) outscored Franciscan University (0-22, 0-10) 25-3 in a double-header in AMCC Conference action on Thursday.
Lady's Redhawks' starting pitcher, Deanna Tritinger, threw a 1-hit shutout to cruise to a 14-0 Game 1 win. La Roche took advantage of eleven Franciscan errors and scored all fourteen runs in the first three innings.
Kim McLay and Alexandra Spain paced the Lady Redhawks with 4 RBIs each and McLay scored 3 runs. Jennifer Lentz, Jodi Walsh, Cyana Wulfers, and Brittany Lunt all scored 2 runs each and McLay and Walsh got 2 hits.
La Roche led the second game of the double-header 4-3 before running off five scores in the bottom of the second inning to take it 11-3. Kacey Haluska hit her first career home run and added a two RBI single to lead La Roche. Kaylee Zozos and Alexandra Spain finished with 3 hits and 2 runs each and Brittany Lunt added 2 RBI.
The Lady Redhawks will travel to D'Youville College on Saturday before returning to La Roche for a double-header on Sunday at 1:00PM.
