AMCC Coaches Predict Men's and Women's Basketball to Repeat as Conference Champions

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its preseason men's and women's basketball polls on Tuesday and both Redhawk teams were chosen to win the conference.

Last season, both the men's and women's basketball teams won the AMCC Conference Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship on their way to their first-ever appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

The men return three starters from last year's championship team including "AMCC Players to Watch" Michael Dixon and Joel McIntosh. Last season, Dixon won the AMCC Defensive Player of the Year Award and McIntosh led the Redhawks in blocks.

Last season's runner-up, Penn State Behrend, was selected to finish second and Medaille and Hilbert round-out the top four teams.

The women return four starters from last year's championship team including "AMCC Players to Watch" Jessica Pitts and Casie Cygan. Last season, Pitts won the AMCC Newcomer of the Year Award and ECAC South Newcomer of the Year Award.

Medaille was chosen as the runner-up for the second consecutive year, and Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Bradford were chosen to finish third and fourth.
