PITTSBURGH, PA – La Roche women's basketball (4-1, 1-0) outscored Mt. Aloysius (0-5, 0-1) by 14 points in the second half and shot 83% from three-point land in the final period to win their conference-opener over the Mounties 76-58.
The Redhawks led 38-34 at halftime before going on a 10-0 run early in the second half to take a commanding lead. The run was highlighted by a Ja'Nia McPhatter three-pointer.
Jessica Pitts recorded her second double-double of the season (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Casie Cygan went 5 for 6 from behind the arc to finish with 15 points. Ja'Nia McPhatter registered 15 points and Chloe' Stewart added 13 points and 5 assists.
The Lady Redhawks shot a season-high 73% (11 for 15) from three-point range and assisted on 20 of 28 field goals.
La Roche will host Hilbert College on Saturday at 4:00PM. The Hawks come into the contest losers of five straight.
