Women's Basketball Forces 38 Turnovers in Win Over Pitt-Greensburg

GREENSBURG, PA – Jessica Pitts had a game-high 16 points and the Lady Redhawks (6-1, 3-0) scored 45 points off of turnovers to roll to a 68-50 win over Pitt-Greensburg (2-6, 1-2) for their fifth consecutive victory.

Pitts scored 10 points and Ja'Nia McPhatter had 4 steals as the Lady Redhawks used twenty Bobcats' turnovers to run to a 40-28 halftime lead. La Roche carried their success into the second half by grabbing 10 offensive rebounds.

Casie Cygan, Chloe' Stewart, and LaShauna Brothers scored 10 points apiece and Pitts added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Ja'Nia McPhatter led the Lady Redhawks with 5 steals and Cygan and Amanda Garland contributed 4 steals each. Pitts, Stewart, and Ariel Green finished with three steals.

La Roche outscored the Bobcats 42-20 in the paint and 45-2 off of turnovers. The Lady Redhawks never trailed in the game.

First place in the AMCC Conference will be on the line when the Lady Redhawks travel to Penn State Behrend on Saturday. La Roche and Penn State Behrend enter the contest with identical 6-1 records and both are 3-0 in conference play.
