PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks (17-4, 14-0) stayed perfect in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with a 66-36 win over Penn State Altoona (6-13, 4-9) on Wednesday night at the Kerr Fitness Center. The victory is their seventh in a row and their twenty-seventh against AMCC Conference opponents.
La Roche went on a 12-0 run to open the contest and followed it up with an 8-0 run to take a commanding first-half lead. The Lady Redhawks caused twenty first half turnovers and Chole' Stewart scored 10 points to give La Roche a thirteen point lead at the half.
The Lady Redhawks continued to put up points in the second half by pressing. La Roche outscored Penn State Altoona 19-2 off turnovers in the second half.
The Lady Redhawks matched a season-high by creating thirty-eight turnovers and La Roche held the visiting Nittany Lions to just 11% from three-point range. La Roche also out-rebounded Penn State Altoona by fourteen on the offensive glass.
La Roche women's basketball will look to improve their conference win-streak to twenty-eight games on Saturday when they travel to D'Youville College. Amanda Garland grabbed 11 rebounds in the Lady Redhawks' forty-three point victory earlier this season.
