Pitts Makes History With Triple-Double in Win Over Penn State Altoona

PITTSBURGH, PA – Jessica Pitts recorded the first triple-double in school history and Amanda Garland scored a career-high 29 points in the Lady Redhawks (6-1, 2-0) 81-36 win over Penn State Altoona (0-7, 0-3) on Wednesday in conference play. The victory extends La Roche's win-streak to a season-high five games.

The Lady Redhawks went on a 15-2 run in the second half to break open a close game. Garland led La Roche with 17 first half points and Casie Cygan added 10 points in the opening frame. The Lady Redhawks embarked on a 26-5 run in the second half to cruise to a 45 point victory.

Pitts' triple-double was truly a night to remember. She finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists to go along with 5 steals. Garland netted 29 points, 7 boards and a game-high 8 steals and Cygan added 26 points on 11 of 21 shooting.

The Lady Redhawks forced 37 turnovers on a season-high 24 steals, resulting into 41 points. La Roche outrebounded their opponent for the fifth straight game.

La Roche women's basketball will travel to Medaille in a rematch of last year's AMCC Conference Championship. The Lady Redhawks upended the Mavericks 55-49 to earn a bid to last season's NCAA Tournament.
