Women's Basketball Upended By Medaille

BUFFALO, NY – La Roche women's basketball (15-4, 10-2) fell to Medaille College (13-5, 10-2) 76-57 in an important conference game on Saturday evening. Both teams are currently tied atop the AMCC standings.  

La Roche outrebounded Medaille 21-15 in the first half but the Mavericks entered the locker room with a slim 29-28 lead. Casie Cygan and Shataya White each scored 7 points and Cygan grabbed 8 rebounds.

The Lady Redhawks kept it close early in the second but Medaille went on a 9-0 run midway through the second half and kept the lead for good.

White finished with a team-high 13 points (6 for 13) while Cygan added 9 points and 9 rebounds. LaShauna Brothers, Sabrina McLin, and Danasha Harris each scored 8 points in the loss.

La Roche shot 36% from the field (24 of 66) and pulled down 37 rebounds but struggled from both three point range and the free throw line.

The Lady Redhawks return to the campus on Wednesday for a big conference game against Mt. Aloysius. The Mounties come into the contest winners of eight straight.
