PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks outrebounded Penn State Behrend by twenty-nine and held them to just 31% shooting as they ran to a 65-44 win on Saturday afternoon.
La Roche controlled the glass in the first half to carry a 33-16 lead into intermission. They pulled down seventeen more rebounds than the visitors with MacKenzie O'Donnell and Danasha Harris leading the way with six boards apiece.
The Lady Redhawks continued their strong defensive play in the second half holding Behrend to just one field goal in the half's first ten minutes.
O'Donnell (14 points, 13 rebounds) and LaShauna Brothers (13 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles while Harris (15 points, 9 rebounds) and Sabrina McLin (13 points) both reached double-figures.
La Roche shot the ball well (26 for 64) and finished with a season-high 48 rebounds. They also outscored the Lions by twenty points in the paint and by fifteen points on second chance points.
The Lady Redhawks will travel to Mt. Aloysius College on Wednesday for a rematch of the 2014 AMCC Championship Game. The Mounties have won three straight games including a victory over Hilbert on Wednesday.
