PITTSBURGH, PA – The La Roche women's basketball team maintained a half game lead in the AMCC Conference standings with an 88-53 victory over Hilbert College on Saturday.
The Lady Redhawks carried a 40-26 lead into halftime turning 12 steals into 18 points. LaShauna Brothers led La Roche with 16 first half points and went 7 for 10 from the field.
La Roche extended their lead in the second half shooting the ball at a 57% clip and forcing 14 turnovers.
Sabrina McLin led all scorers with a career-high 29 points (5 three-pointers) to go along with 5 assists. Brothers finished with 20 points (9 of 12), 6 assists and 5 steals while Danasha Harris added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 steals. Mackenzie O'Donnell had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks in the win.
La Roche shot the ball efficiently hitting 44% (35 of 80) from the floor and 41% (7 of 17) from three-point range. They converted twenty-three steals into forty points and assisted on 27 of 35 field goals.
The Lady Redhawks conclude the weekend tomorrow when they host Medaille. Tip-off is 2pm.
