The Lady Redhawks were well represented on the AMCC All-Conference Team announced this morning. Four La Roche women's basketball players earned All-Conference nods including Danasha Harris who was named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Year. Sabrina McLin was named All-Conference First Team, LaShauna Brothers was Second Team, and Mackenzie O'Donnell was Third Team.
Harris was selected the Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Harris led the AMCC and ranked seventh in the nation in steals (3.9 spg). She also was second in the AMCC and fifteenth in the nation in offensive rebounds (5.0 orpg).
McLin earned All-Conference First Team honors after finishing second in the AMCC in scoring (19.0 ppg). She led the conference in three-pointers while ranking second in free throw percentage, third in field goals, and in the top ten in three-point percentage and minutes played. She was a 2-time AMCC Player of the Week and scored in double figures in every conference game.
Brothers was an All-Conference Second Team selection for the second straight season. She finished in the AMCC's top ten in points (6th), steals (6th) assists (6th), free throw percentage (4th) and field goals (5th). Brothers scored her 1000th career point in a February 11 victory over Pitt-Greensburg and she currently ranks fourth on the school's all-time points list.
O'Donnell made the All-Conference Third Team for a second time after a terrific sophomore campaign. She ranked second in the conference in blocks and fourth in field goal percentage. She also finished in the top ten in points (7th), rebounds (9th), free throws (8th), and field goals (9th).
This marks the second straight year that four Lady Redhawks received postseason honors and the sixth straight year that La Roche was represented on the first team.
