PITTSBURGH, PA – Sabrina McLin matched a season-high with 32 points and also added 10 rebounds as La Roche beat Waynesburg 76-53 to enter their holiday break on a seven game winning streak.
Neither the home squad nor the visitors could take control in the first half with La Roche entering intermission with a slight 27-26 lead. All twenty-seven of La Roche's points came from McLin, Mackenzie O'Donnell and TiChina Mitchell with McLin scoring a team-high 11 points. The Redhawks held Waynesburg to just 31% from the field and scored 20 of 27 points in the paint.
La Roche's third quarter sharpshooting helped them pull away from the Yellow Jackets. McLin went 3 for 3 from beyond the arc as La Roche entered the fourth quarter with a nine point lead. The Lady Redhawks ran away in the final ten minutes to pick up their seventh straight victory.
McLin hit 4 of 7 three pointers and went 6 for 7 from the charity stripe. TiChina Mitchell (24 points) and Mackenzie O'Donnell (13 points) both reached double figures while Danasha Harris provided 7 assists and 7 steals.
The Lady Redhawks offense was extremely effective in the win. They hit 52% of their shots and assisted on 21 of 30 field goals. La Roche also outrebounded Waynesburg by eight and outscored them in the paint (42-28) and off of turnovers (29-12).
The Lady Redhawks end the break on a seven game win-streak and a 9-2 overall record. They will return to action on January 9th at Hilbert College.
