STEUBENVILLE, OH – The La Roche Redhawks' eleven game win-streak came to an end after falling to Franciscan University 76-69 in an AMCC Conference road game on Monday night. The loss also snaps their sixteen game conference road win-streak.
La Roche trailed 60-49 heading into the fourth quarter before storming back to take a 67-66 lead. Six different Redhawks scored points over the course of the run including AMCC Player of the Week Sabrina McLin who contributed 8 points. The Barons responded to the run by forcing a pair of turnovers and they scored the game's next six points. Franciscan then made 4 of 6 free throws with less than 30 seconds left to hold on for the victory.
McLin scored a game-high 33 points while TiChina Mitchell added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
La Roche committed an uncharacteristic 23 turnovers and were outrebounded by eight.
The women's basketball team will host Penn State Altoona on Thursday at the Kerr Fitness Center. The Redhawks defeated Penn State Altoona earlier this season when they traveled up to Altoona and won 92-59.
