PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks picked up their twelfth win in the past thirteen games after cruising to a 90-57 victory over Penn State Altoona on Thursday night. La Roche improves to 14-3 overall and 9-1 in AMCC Conference play.
La Roche outrebounded Altoona 17-2 in the first quarter to build a 32-15 lead. TiChina Mitchell and Sabrina McLin reached double figures in the first ten minutes alone while Danasha Harris had 5 rebounds and 3 assists. The Lady Redhawks followed with a solid second quarter to enter halftime up 48-29. La Roche shot 58% prior to intermission and held a 28-7 rebounding edge. La Roche rolled in the second half to earn the thirty-three point win.
The Lady Redhawks finished with season-highs in blocks (11), assists (30) and made field goals (42). They outrebounded Altoona by twenty-three and outscored them 74-26 in the paint.
Mitchell finished with 30 points (15 of 26 FG) and added 14 rebounds to record her seventh double-double of the season. She has scored in double-figures in every game this season.
Mackenzie O'Donnell registered a season-high 24 points (12 of 17 FG), 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 assists while McLin had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Harris contributed 10 points and Gloria Schifino 6 assists.
The Lady Redhawks will host AMCC rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday at 4PM. La Roche handed Behrend a 78-63 loss in December.
