AMCC Coaches Pick La Roche to Defend Women’s Basketball Title; McLin Tabbed as Preseason Player of the Year

La Roche College, winners of the past six AMCC women's basketball titles, was selected by the AMCC coaches to once again successfully defend their title in 2016-17.  Pitt-Bradford, after meeting the Redhawks in last year's championship game, was selected to finish second, and Penn St. Behrend third.

La Roche senior guard Sabrina McLin has been selected as the AMCC Women's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year. McLin, the reigning conference Player of the Year, ranked seventh in the nation in scoring and finished tied for second in the AMCC with 21.4 points per game. She was second in the conference with 52 three-pointers, ranked third in steals with 77 and was fifth in assists with 96. She was also twice named the AMCC Player of the Week last season.

The AMCC Championship will be held Sunday, February 26 at the site of the number one seed, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
