Pittsburgh, PA- The La Roche Women's Basketball Team bypassed the Bradford Panthers 69-57 in a comeback win on Saturday. The win brings the Lady Redhawks to a 4-2 overall record with a 2-0 record in conference.
The Lady Panthers outscored the Redhawks both in the first and second quarter to enter the half up 35-26. Despite the lead that Bradford had on the Redhawks, Sabrina McLin scored 14 of the 25 points scored for the Redhawks in the first half.
La Roche's defense clamped down in the second half. Pitt-Bradford had no answer for the Redhawks' press and were outscored 44-21. They shot just 24% (7 of 29) to La Roche's 62% (18 of 29), and made just 1 of 8 shots from distance. McLin (16 points, 8 rebounds) and Danasha Harris (7 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds) sparked the second half comeback while Mackenzie O'Donnell was extremely effective under the basket.
McLin led the Redhawks with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Harris had 10 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Gloria Schifino dished out a career-high 11 assists.
The Redhawks look to continue their schedule next Saturday, December 10th as they travel to Hilbert. Game time is 2p.m.
