Novak Scores as Lady Redhawks Extend Unbeaten Streak to Four

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Lady Redhawks (2-1-3) could not hold a 1-0 halftime lead as St. Vincent College (2-2-1) and La Roche played to a 1-1 2OT draw. It is the third consecutive draw for the host Lady Redhawks.

Shelby Novak put the Lady Redhawks ahead 1-0 with ten minutes left to play in the first half. Lindsey McKay sent a nice thru-ball into the middle of the box and Novak buried the breakaway attempt.

St. Vincent answered with a goal of their own in the 75th minute. The Bearcats threatened again late in the game but La Roche goalkeeper, Raelene Zajac, came up with a big save to send it into overtime.

Despite outshooting the Bearcats 4-1 and dominating possession, the Redhawks could not find the back of the net in overtime and the match ended deadlocked at 1-1.

Novak's goal was her second of the season and Lindsey McKay recorded her AMCC-leading fifth assist. Raelene Zajac made a season-high 11 saves.

La Roche Women's Soccer will travel to Westminster College (0-2-1) on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00PM. The Titans are coming off of a 1-0 loss against John Carroll.
