Coach Wilf is in his 6th academic year at La Roche and has been successful in changing the culture of the tennis program.

In 2011, he led his team to an 8-3 overall record and 6-2 record in the AMCC. The Redhawks finished in 3rd place in both the regular season and the conference tournament. Wilf coached 4 players to the All-Conference Team en route to breaking over 20 school records in his first year at La Roche. He was named the 2011 AMCC Women’s Tennis Co-Coach of the Year.

He guided his 2012 squad to the AMCC Tennis Championship winning the title in dramatic fashion. After starting the year 2-5, the team went on an 8 match winning streak, qualified for the year ending conference tournament and earned the #4 seed. There they upset top seeded and undefeated Franciscan in the semi-finals, and topped the 7-time defending conference champion in the final to hoist the trophy. Coach Wilf guided 2 players to 1st Team All-Conference and for the 2nd consecutive year was named Conference Coach of the Year. The team would go on to become the first La Roche tennis team to compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

In the past few seasons here at La Roche Coach Wilf has had players win 5 Conference Player of the Week awards, 12 times a player was named to the All-Conference Team, and 10 players have been named to the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team. In 2013-2014 he brought in 6 players after a rebuilding campaign in 2013, which was the biggest tennis recruiting class in school history. In 2014 his team more than doubled up every major stat from the previous year and he once again led a player to a First Team All-Conference award. By 2015 Coach Wilf brought in the 3rd consecutive largest tennis recruiting class and once again doubled up every major stat (including total wins, and individual match wins) from the previous year. In 2015, he produced 2 more players gaining All-Conference honors including the first freshman tennis player to win this award.

Prior to coming to La Roche, Wilf spent 5 years at Chatham University. He led his 2009 and 2010 teams to 3rd and 4th place finishes respectively in the Presidents Athletic Conference; to date the best finishes ever for the Cougars in the PAC. In 2009 he was named the PAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year and in 2010 he led his team to a record 10 wins.

Before Chatham, Wilf spent 3 years as the Head Tennis Coach at Butler High School winning the section title in his first year. In 2 of the 3 seasons his team’s finished in the top 10 in the WPIAL.

Since college Wilf has also served as a tennis professional, teaching at Lakevue Athletic Club for 6 years , and at Oxford Athletic Club, in Wexford for 2 years. He is certified through the USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry).

Wilf graduated from Dickinson College where he played tennis all 4 years, winning the team MVP his junior season.

He played at Taylor Allderdice High School before that and earned 6 medals for tennis including winning 2 individual City Championships and 4 consecutive team City Championships.

He also serves as the Study Hall Coordinator for the Athletic Department and teaches tennis courses in the Physical Education Department. In addition, Wilf has overseen independent studies for the school as a faculty supervisor. Furthermore, Coach Wilf serves as the conference representative on the NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional Committee.
