Redhawks Steamroll Pitt-Greensburg 24-3

GREENSBURG, Pa. - La Roche baseball put together a dominant performance on Tuesday, scoring their most runs in a single game since 2019, taking down Pitt-Greensburg, 24-3.

In the opening inning, La Roche immediately put pressure on Pitt.-Greensburg, turning traffic on the bases into production. Chase Sankovich set the tone, and the lineup followed with disciplined at-bats and timely swings. Eli Thomas, Alex Perez, DJ Loveland, and Ricky Heyz all contributed in a relentless rally that produced four runs right out of the gate. It was clear early—La Roche wasn't going to wait around.

Even after Pitt.-Greensburg answered with a solo home run, La Roche didn't slow down.

In the second inning, Liam Burns made a statement of his own, launching a home run to extend the lead. It was just the beginning of a huge day for him—and for the entire lineup.

By the third inning, the offense had found a rhythm that couldn't be contained. Chase Sankovich drove in another run, Samuel DiCicco added a sacrifice fly, and Aaron Exler followed with an RBI single. Every inning felt like a continuation of the last—constant pressure, quality at-bats, and production up and down the order.

While the offense surged, Josh Cayer quietly took control on the mound. He limited damage, attacked hitters, and kept Pitt.-Greensburg from building any momentum. His outing—seven innings with nine strikeouts—gave La Roche exactly what it needed: stability behind an explosive offense.

The middle innings turned the game into a runaway.

In the fifth, La Roche broke it open even further. Liam Burns, Eli Thomas, and Alex Perez all delivered run-scoring hits in a five-run inning that stretched the lead into double digits. Then came the sixth, where more runs crossed thanks to aggressive baserunning and defensive miscues by Pitt.-Greensburg.

But La Roche wasn't finished.

The seventh inning became the exclamation point.

Liam Burns stepped in and crushed his second home run of the day—a three-run blast that highlighted a five-RBI performance. The lineup kept rolling behind him, with Alex Perez, Troy Sallis, and Ricky Heyz each driving in runs to push the total to an incredible 24.

By the time it was over, La Roche had piled up 23 hits and 24 runs—production from nearly every spot in the lineup. Eli Thomas reached base five times and drove in four, Alex Perez added four hits and four RBIs, and contributions came in waves inning after inning.

The final score—24–3—told the story.

From La Roche's perspective, it was a complete performance. Explosive offense, consistent pitching, and nonstop pressure defined the game from start to finish. It wasn't just about scoring runs—it was about how they did it: together, relentlessly, and without giving the opponent a chance to recover.
