Redhawks Win First-Ever AMCC Regular Season Championship

PITTSBURGH, PA – Senior point guard Laron Mann scored a career-high 21 points on senior night as the Redhawks (23-2, 17-1)  beat Medaille (19-6, 15-3) 68-64 to capture their first ever AMCC Conference Regular Season Championship.

After playing to a 20-20 tie at the half, the Redhawks were able to open up a double-digit second half lead. Mann hit two early three-point shots and Mike Dixon had a pair of free throws and field goals to take a 54-41 lead with 3:26 left in regulation.

Medaille stormed back by hitting 3 three-pointers in the final three minutes before Mike Dixon hit a pair of free throws to put the game away.

Mann led the Redhawks with 7 assists in addition to his 21 points. Dixon recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds and Joel McIntosh added 10 points in the win.

The Redhawks will return to action in the AMCC Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday, February 25 at 1:00PM at the Kerr Fitness Center. La Roche will host the winner of the Mount Aloysius at Hilbert game on Tuesday, February 22 at 7:00PM
