PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche men's soccer team lost their second non-conference game of the season to visiting Waynesburg on Tuesday afternoon. Waynesburg struck first when forward Kyle Deaner sniped a shot to the left corner of La Roche's goal in the 38th minute of the match. Less than a minute later, defender Ryan Mills took a free kick from 40+ yards out and found the back of the net.
After trailing 2-0, the match became physical, leading to a La Roche penalty kick in the 43rd minute. Senior Firas Abduljawad capitalized on the opportunity to bring the Redhawks within one.
Less than 15 minutues into the second half, Waynesburg's Cam Sutherland scored their third and final goal of the game off an assist from teammate Nate Kummer.
In total, 5 yellow cards were awarded in the contest (La Roche-3, Waynesburg-2). La Roche was outshot 15-5 (10-3 in shots on goal).
