Redhawk Stung By Yellow Jackets

WAYNESBURG, Pa. - La Roche men's soccer traveled to Waynesburg on Saturday night and after a lengthy delay leading to a late start, the Redhawks were unable to keep their unblemished streak alive, falling to the Yellow Jackets, 2-1.

As the offense has most games this season, La Roche struck first at 15:20, when Phillip Hawkins opened the scoring off an assist by Nico Manos, which provided the lone score of the night for the Redhawks.

At 33:23, Waynesburg scored the equalizer and forced a 1-1 score at the end of the first half.

The Yellow Jackets would score the game winner, just past the 15-minute mark of the second half, scoring at 60:06 and would hold on the final 29:54 to take the victory.

La Roche had to fight for chances in the match, finishing with seven shots and just three on the cage.

The Redhawks no prepare for a three-game home stand, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 23 when they welcome Wooster. Opening kick is set for 4 p.m.
