Men's Soccer Remains Unblemished In AMCC Play With 1-1 Draw At Alfred State

ALFRED, N.Y. - La Roche men's soccer remained unbeaten in AMCC play on Saturday night, coming away from its match against Alfred State with a 1-1 draw.

The 2025 season continued to be one of accomplishments for the Redhawks, as it's the first time since 2016 that La Roche has gone unblemished in the first three AMCC matches of the season and the first time coming away with a point at Alfred State since the Pioneers joined the AMCC.

The Redhawks wasted no time hitting the scoreboard, as Malvin Madzimbamuto scored his AMCC leading eighth goal of the year, at 8:12 of the the first half, assisted by Sadick Ibrahim.

The goal would stand up through halftime with La Roche leading, 1-0, but out of the break, Alfred State scored a quick equalizer, just 5:51 into the second half, a goal that would allow the game to remain even until the final whistle.

The Pioneers would have more chances, outshooting the Redhawks, 11-3 and 4-2 in shots on goal, but the AMCC's leader in save percentage, goals allowed and goals against average, Maddox Anderson, stopped three of four shots on the night.

La Roche now has a week off to ready themselves for a home match against Hilbert on Saturday, Oct. 11. Opening kick is slated for 4 p.m.
