PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche women's soccer opened AMCC play on Saturday afternoon against Pitt-Bradford and came out victorious with a 3-1 victory.
After a long stalemate, La Roche would hit the scoreboard in the final 2:39 of the first half, as Kiki Nemcek scored off an assist by Angelina McGrath to make it 1-0, a lead that would go into halftime.
The Redhawks wasted no time adding an insurance goal, scoring just 3:12 out of the break when Grace Motuk scored unassisted.
Pitt-Bradford's lone goal crossed at 80:50, but Zaida Gonzalez Rosado would deliver the punctuation mark at 87:13 to make it 3-1 and close the scoring.
La Roche won the shot totals, 14-7 and in shots on goal, 8-5.
The Redhawks return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. when they host Carlow.
