Grine Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - La Roche volleyball junior middle hitter, Kalli Grine, was named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference.

Grine continued her great junior campaign, as the Redhawks went 2-1 during the week of October 7th through 13th.

On Monday against Penn State Beaver in a 3-0 sweep, Grine played just two of the three sets in the victory, ending with three kills, a pair of digs, as well as a solo block.

In Tuesday's tough 3-2 loss to Mt. Aloysius, Grine put together a complete all-around performance, including seven kills, two service aces, a career high 18 digs and 17 service receptions, one solo block and three assisted blocks.

In the final match of the week, a 3-0 win over Pitt-Bradford, Grine added seven more kills, 11 digs, 12 services receptions with a perfect 100% service reception percentage, one solo block and five assisted blocks.

For the week, Grine had 31 digs, 33 service receptions, including a .931 serve receive percentage in the two conference matchups, three solo blocks, eight assisted blocks, two service aces and 17 kills.

Grine currently ranks second in the AMCC in blocks per set (0.80), fourth in total blocks (40), eighth in hitting percentage (.239) and top 15 in both total kills and kills per set.
